Upcoming Events - January 2022

A very special offering is coming up at the beginning of January! I am so very excited to be offering another Sound Immersion at Cave of the Heart.

Sound and vibration have a profound impact on our well being, on our relationships, on our creativity... It allows us to become more in tune with ourselves, and therefore the beings and world all around us.

Over the years, as a musician and Nada Yogi I have felt a strong call to merge these parts of myself in my practice and in my teaching (both of Yoga and in my role at Lajeunesse as the Instrumental Music/Jazz Band leader).

I look so very forward to sharing this offering and experience with you.

"Everything in existence vibrates to a certain resonant frequency. Every part of our bodies, every thought and emotion all have an inherent sound. The practice of Nada Yoga is to fine tune these frequencies so that we can embody health and wholeness on all levels" (Le Jivamukti de Paris).

Nada Yoga, the Yoga of Sound, involves deep listening. It uses pure sounds as a means of meditation. In many ways it is a paradoxical practice - both passive and active - meditative listening and receiving of sound and also actively moving sound through our bodies. This pilgrimage through the body and mind will be guided via sound and vibration. We will begin with body and breath awareness for grounding: then, you will be immersed in a soundscape. I will play many instruments, including:

- Singing bowls

- Chimes

- Harmonium

- The Chakra Overtone Drum - The COD is a healing-musical instrument implemented on the research of Dr. Barbara Brennan, an American physicist, and pioneer in the field of energy healing. The COD is tuned to seven specific sound frequencies that resonate very accurately in the human energy centers - our chakras.

Bring props (mat, blankets, bolsters, eye pillow) to be as comfortable as possible, as it is strongly recommended that class be experienced in savasana (lying on your back). I also strongly recommend bringing a notebook. There may be thoughts or ideas that present themselves to you during this practice that you may want to take note of during practice.
